Finite element mesh of a mitered pipe junction assembly shown in isometric view

Mesh generation

The component is discretised into a fine element mesh, with density refined through the joint and wall transitions before loads are applied.

Cutaway section through a mitered pipe junction showing the internal finite element mesh

Section detail

A cutaway through the junction confirms mesh quality through the wall and reveals the internal geometry that governs local stress.
